The Passenger Fundraiser for Jubilee Housing

National Day of Service
January 20, 2014

Alpha Gamma Alumnae Chapter's signature event each year is to participate in the V-Day efforts. In 2014, we hosted a fundraiser event at the Passenger in collaboration with Sigma Lambda Gamma DC Metro Alumnae Association and the Gamma Epsilon Graduate/Professional Chapter of La Unidad Latina, Lambda Upsilon Lambda Fraternity, Inc. The proceeds went to Jubilee Housing, Inc. a local non-profit that works with low income communities by providing resources and affordable housing. The funds raised were used to support their annual V-Day benefit which was held on Friday, May 9th. This annual event brings awareness of violence against women and girls.

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Alpha Gamma Alumnae Chapter participated in the National Day of Service with the AmeriCorps City Year Program. In 2014 the event took place at Coolidge High School in Washington D.C. where members of the community re-painted the school's cafeteria and classrooms.
